Picture This: Week 44, 2016.

Obligatory prelude: I've done a picture-a-day project for the past couple years. I usually debate its continuation annually, but it was a no-brainer this year.  This series keeps me posting when nothing else will write itself.  I will be trying to post more regularly otherwise! Besides, as last year, I like it as a part of posting the ordinary and capturing daily life. Check out past posts through the picture-a-day tag.

Copper, confirming protection on all borders.

October 25, 2016

Copper, looking longing at his mug on a mug.

October 26, 2016

Copper, acting as a nurse's assistant and trying to hone in on my heating pad.

October 27, 2016

The illustrations within these new Harry Potter releases are so beautiful.

October 28, 2016

The first of the season.  I've been quite tardy on my pumpkin spice chai.

October 29, 2016

This is my first beer in years.  Actual years.

October 30, 2016

Henry found a new level of lazy, laying down to catch her butterfly.  That look kills me though.

October 17, 2016

I missed the supermoon Sunday in all the rain.  I was happy to catch it nearly as big and bright on Monday.

October 18, 2016

Copper, posing as a nightmare.

October 19, 2016

It's hard to see, but Henry has taken to sleeping with her eyes open.  It is just as terrifying as you can imagine.  She's totally asleep - snoring, doesn't react to noise - and her eyes are  in a cold, dead stare.  These furbabies are really getting into the spooky spirit.

October 20, 2016

Lasagna dinner with some of our best friends.

October 21, 2016

It's a hard picture to capture, but one of my favorite views in the house is the hallway with this special picture as it lead into our bedroom.  It's even better with a sleepy Henry.  It's so much comfort to me.

October 22, 2016

Our fall decoration is kept to the porch this year.  It's disappointing to not have spiderwebs all about, but the basement is distracting us from any other house attention.

October 23, 2016

After suspicious activity for about a month, I finally spotted some individuals wearing camo and carrying a crossbow in our neighboring woods.  Deer culling was recently approved in our city, but I called them anyway because I don't necessarily like having a crossbow so close to my house.  We learned our neighbors have approved their land for approved hunting.  It breaks my heart.  This was the scene Sunday morning - deer peacefully resting and meandering around our yard.  As much as I complain about their destruction, there are ways to work around them.  There are ways to live together, and I've learned to love them.

October 10, 2016

Henry snuck onto the desk and cuddled on my elbow as I worked Monday.  Snuck is a relative term.  She's about as graceful as an ox.

October 11, 2016

Target, it's been too long.

October 12, 2016

With friends in town, we went to bed late on Tuesday.  In fact, we went to bed on Wednesday.  My partner in sleep crime, Henry, was so upset at the late bedtime that she actually snuggled instead of just passing out on my feet, as she usually does.  I captured because it's so rare for Henry to snuggle - only to realize as I wrote this that I grabbed a picture of her on Monday.  Maybe I'm not observant.

October 13, 2016

Charlotte colored me a picture! I love visits with that spunky three-year-old (and her parents, and meeting her beautiful baby sister :) ).

October 14, 2016

After our egress window install, I want all the basement egress windows.  The light!

October 15, 2016

Late fall garden harvest.  I'm hoping to squeeze a few more tomatoes.

October 16, 2016

We've vowed to take better advantage of living 20 minutes from Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  We did a quick hike of Brandywine Falls Sunday morning before diving back into basement work.

October 3, 2016

Commitment problems in book form.  At any given time, I'm almost always reading multiple books.  Typically three at a time.

October 4, 2016

Snapchat is making all of my animated animal dreams come true.

October 5, 2016

Henry, butterfly assassin, in action.

October 6, 2016

The office recognized my promotion at their yearend party with little personal gifts - Oreos and home mags.  Perfect.

October 7, 2016

The start of the new musical year! It's going to be a great year of shows if the first was any indication.  It was heavy, but so, so good.

October 8, 2016

Fall winery weekend! It's my favorite weekend of the year.  I'm so thankful for these two, it was the perfect weekend of wine tasting and small plates.

October 9, 2016

Fall skies.

September 26, 2016

Beautiful evening light.

September 27, 2016

Sick.  Layered up and blending all the Vitamin C into smoothie form.

September 28, 2016

My favorite (favorite ever?) ice cream for sweeter sore throat remedies.

September 29, 2016

Henry left me on the couch to snuggle with her brother.  Sweet little fur babies.

September 30, 2016

Henry's seventh birthday!

October 1, 2016

Big thanks to my dad for traveling for a day to help in the basement.  We were able to get the vapor barrier up on two walls, insulation on the same two walls, a wall building plan and materials, and so much planning done on the electrical front.  Lots more to go, but it got me over another overwhelming obstacle.  It's best to keep moving.

October 2, 2016

Science Sundays.  Our fridge water filter significantly slowed almost three months to its replacement.  These things aren't cheap, so I had to see why the filter slowed so much.  Results are inconclusive.  It's not really helpful to open up an older filter when I have no idea what a new one might look like.
