Picture This: Week 30, 2016.

Obligatory prelude: I've done a picture-a-day project for the past couple years. I usually debate its continuation annually, but it was a no-brainer this year.  This series keeps me posting when nothing else will write itself.  I will be trying to post more regularly otherwise! Besides, as last year, I like it as a part of posting the ordinary and capturing daily life. Check out past posts through the picture-a-day tag.

July 18, 2016

Ludington, Michigan.  This place was beautiful.

July 19, 2016

Donut fiend: guilty.

July 20, 2016

Henry, always throwing judgment.

July 21, 2016

Henry! In less than 24 hours, she lost the attitude and posed like a sweet little fur baby.

July 22, 2016

Trimming and finishing the closets.

July 23, 2016

The last play in our first series: Steel Magnolias.  I loved the venue and set - it was a fantastic production.

July 24, 2016

 Birthday celebrations!

July 11, 2016

Monday yoga is one of my favorite things.

July 12, 2016

A present! I love the unexpected packages.

July 13, 2016

I hadn't been to the dermatologist in a while - since moving to Cleveland - and paid the price: three moles.

July 14, 2016

I love the shoots cucumbers plants send out, twisting and gripping as if they had eyes.  It's faint, but this guy latched himself on tight.  Now start popping out cukes!

July 15, 2016

A really, really mad Henry.

July 16, 2016

I had tried to nurse the previous back to life, but a dead plant in the office was depressing. I gave up.  The new plant literally gives me life.

July 17, 2016

Celebrated National Ice Cream Day with ice cream on Lake Michigan.

July 4, 2016

Started our second anniversary with a tour of Alcatraz, because we love irony.

July 5, 2016

San Francisco, in all its foggy glory.

July 6, 2016

Even before a packed day of wine tastings, Sonoma Valley quickly became one of my favorite places.

July 7, 2016

Scribe Winery was one of our favorite wineries in Sonoma Valley.

July 8, 2016

21st Amendment Brewery, and representing Cleveland brewing.

July 9, 2016

Thanks to my mum, the kittens were much less sassy than normal upon our return.  We got purrs and snuggles from Copper the first day! Normally, we wait a day for eye contact.

July 10, 2016

Henry was elated with our return.  In the past two days, she barely lets up out of her sights.  Here, she had one eye on me while I sat on the bed and the other on Zach as he finished a paper in the office.

June 27, 2016

Copper was delighted by a little goldfinch pecking on the window.

June 28, 2016

The goldfinch continued at the window for several days, which Copper loved.  I wouldn't repeat solely for this purpose - do you see the baby deer looking on? I also normally wouldn't point that out, but others completely missed it.

June 29, 2016

We were supposed to fly to California at 2pm.  I think 8pm was the revised departure after several delays.  It made for a rough start to the trip.

June 30, 2016

We hiked to the summit of Half Dome.  After a 3am arrival in Yosemite, the 15 mile hike was grueling and I'm not entirely sure how we did it.  It was amazing.

July 1, 2016

This was our hike to Half Dome.  We started below the back of the second waterfall in this picture, to the top of that mountain.  I'm glad we didn't see this overview beforehand - not visualizing the distance helped us to keep going.

July 2, 2016

Elephant seals! I'm in love with his derpy face.  This is on the Pacific coast, off Highway 1.

July 3, 2016

McWay Falls, one of a few waterfalls to the beach off Highway 1.  California is magical.
